The Kailakuri Health Care Project in Bangladesh is in need of people to pray for them and to help support the project. Since Dr. Baker’s passing in 2015, support has dropped off. This past year, Kailakuri has been about $51,000 USD behind budget. They are starting to reduce spending, but this also means cutting back on services. Kailakuri staff currently see about 100 outpatients a day, 35-40 inpatients a day, manage 5 diabetic outreach clinics serving 1,800 diabetic patients each month, and weigh babies in 19 villages as part of the maternal-child health program. Kailakuri only serves the poor. Many families served by Kailakuri can only afford one or two meals a day. Patient fees cover about 5-7% of the total running cost. Kailakuri’s annual budget right now is about $300,000 USD per year. Please pray that God will raise up people to help support Kailakuri so that they can continue to serve the poor patients there.
