Pumpkin Patch and Naomi’s Art

A couple of weekends ago we were able to go to the local pumpkin patch and pick out some pumpkins. The kids were due for naps, but they did pretty well overall. We went with our comadre, Elizabeth, and our goddaughter, Brenda (who is 12). After picking pumpkins out, they played on the hay bales and in the corn “sandbox”. We didn’t have time to do the corn maze, which is probably a good thing–I may not have found my way out.

All the kids like to draw. Naomi seems to have a love of drawing, though, and art in general. She will lay on the floor on her stomach with her feet kicking in the air while she colors a picture. Recently, she made her first 3D art–a soap sculpture. She took a bit of and old soap bar and pushed it into the new bar that we have. She seemed very happy with the result.
